Jane Fonda arrested during a protest proves she's the MVP

49 years after her first rally arrest, Jane Fonda has been arrested again protesting climate change. The 81-year-old icon protested outside the US Capitol building alongside a group advocating for clean energy, Oil Change International.

Fonda posted on her website to tell viewers that she had moved to Washington DC to be “closer to the epicentre of the fight for our climate”. She also vowed to continue to protest every Friday until January to demand for action to be taken.

The badass actress is not one to shy away from the real issues. Just last month she spoke at the global climate strike in Los Angeles, while in 2016, she spent Thanksgiving protesting against the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline.

And, who can forget this iconic image where she was arrested protesting the Vietnam War in 1970?

Social media users have praised Fonda, calling her a “real one,” with one user asking “how dare they arrest the queen?”
